Application possibilities:
The PCCO MONO 9 heat pump can be a standalone heat source in new energy-saving buildings, and in modernized buildings, it can cooperate with a boiler in so-called hybrid heating. Thanks to the applied design solutions, the heat pump can operate down to an outdoor temperature of -25 °C. The maximum supply temperature is 58°C (down to -15°C outdoor temperature) and 50°C (down to -25°C). The cooperation of the heat pump with a underfloor heating system (or another low-temperature surface heating system) is particularly recommended. OKC / HP series boilers with a larger heating coil surface are used for effective heating of domestic water. In addition, the PCCO MONO 9 heat pump can operate in active cooling mode, cooling the water down to 7°C.
PZ HX protection module - an innovative solution for protecting MONOBLOC heat pumps against freezing in the event of a power failure (-25°C / 48h):
The PZ HX Protection Module, developed for monoblock heat pumps, provides complete protection against freezing of the secondary circuit (after the condenser in the heat pump) in the event of a power failure. Even at an outdoor temperature of -25 °C for at least 48 hours, the solution protects the heat pump, eliminating the need for a heating medium with antifreeze agents. The PCCO MONO heat pump operates on water and achieves approximately 20% higher COP efficiency compared to the operation of a typical device with glycol.
Construction and operation of the PCCO MONO 9 heat pump:
The PCCO MONO 9 heat pump consists of two units. There is a complete refrigerant circuit in the outdoor unit. No intervention is required here to fill it before the heat pump is started. This reduces the time and cost of assembly work. The units are connected to the heating water with hoses. An innovative protection system has been developed to protect against frost.
EKONTROL DIAGNOSTIC - 24/7/365 work analysis with automatic reporting:
The innovative solution provides constant support by analyzing 54 measurement data. Automatically generated reports are forwarded to the user. The service company can respond in advance to any malfunctions in the work. When using EKONTROL DIAGNOSTIC, no inspections are required within the 5-year warranty period.
Independent operation or cooperation with a boiler in a hybrid system:
Depending on the energy standard of the building, the heat demand and the type of heating system, the PCCO MONO heat pump can be an independent heat source or support the operation of the boiler. In an energy-efficient building, the so-called mono-energy operation of the heat pump, where an electric heater can be switched on (built into the outdoor unit or additionally on the heating water) in case of greater heat demand. The building then does not need a connection to the gas network. For older or new buildings with a greater heat demand and using radiator heating, the bivalent operating mode of the heat pump is used. At a certain outdoor temperature, the boiler is switched on, which operates in parallel or instead of the heat pump (depending on the type of boiler and fuel - which affects the operating costs).

Detailed features of the PCCO MONO 9 heat pump
- Advanced G426 controller with a wide range of functions
The G426 controller allows a hydraulic diagram to be selected from an installation equipped with a gas boiler. The functions of the controller allow cooperation with the boiler to optimize the costs of heating domestic hot water. The text screen increases the ease of use of the extensive set of settings and readings of the operating states. Time functions allow you to adjust the operation of the heat pump and the domestic hot water circulation pump to the needs of the residents. The RS485 communication connector is used for cooperation with remote monitoring via the Internet - EKONTROL system.

RS485 interface for work monitoring via internet with EKONTROL system
- Twin Rotary DC Inverter compressor with smooth capacity control
The inverter compressor used in the PCCO MONO 9 heat pump operates with a steplessly adjustable output from 30 to 100%. If the heat pump's controller registers a supply temperature of the heating system that is too low compared to the desired temperature (e.g. according to the heating curve), the compressor is started. The maximum capacity of the inverter compressor allows the desired supply temperature to be reached quickly (in less time than with a conventional ON-OFF compressor). The capacity of the inverter compressor will gradually decrease as the supply temperature approaches the desired value. The capacity of the inverter compressor is smoothly controlled with a high accuracy of 0.5K relative to the desired temperature value (accuracy of the ON-OFF compressor for comparison of 2K).
- SWEP AsyMatrix asymmetrical condenser
The special design of the condenser from the renowned SWEP manufacturer, made in AsyMatrix® technology, in which the cross-sections of the heat exchanger channels are diversified, increasing them on the side of the heating medium compared to the side of the heating water. This makes it possible to reduce the water flow resistance, lower electricity consumption, increase the evaporation temperature and the COP efficiency by approximately 3%.
- Wilo high-efficiency circulation pump
The Wilo-Para circulation pump meets the requirements of the ErP directive for energy efficiency for circulation pumps (class A). Due to its wide control range, it can operate in installations with radiator and underfloor heating. Electricity consumption is on average 2 to 3 times lower than under the same operating conditions of a fixed-speed pump.
- Built-in valve for DHW / HW operating mode
The built-in valve for the heat pump's operating mode for central heating or heating domestic hot water eliminates the need for a valve at the water outlet of the indoor unit. This reduces assembly time and costs and simplifies the installation diagram.
- Twin-Rotary compressor with double piston
Compressor made in Twin-Rotary technology, unlike standard rotary compressors (with one piston), is characterized by balanced and quiet operation, even at lower loads, and stable medium pressure at the outlet.
- Evaporator with large heat exchange surface
An evaporator with a large heat surface ensures effective heat dissipation, even at low outdoor temperatures (operation down to -25 °C). The hydrophilic surface of the evaporator does not retain moisture, reducing frost formation. The efficient fan combined with the large evaporator surface reduces the airflow speed, reducing noise during operation. The DC motor of the fan ensures smooth speed control to reduce electricity consumption and further reduce noise during operation.
- Weidmüller electrical connectors
Safety during assembly work and the operation of heat pumps is ensured by the use of terminals with Weidmüller electrical connectors. Thanks to the highest quality electrical connectors, safe connections, durability, reliability and resistance to vibrations are obtained.
- Individual control of expansion valve
The standard control of the electronic expansion valve, depending on the temperature in the refrigerant circuit, has been replaced by the advanced, integrated control of the outdoor unit, taking into account the direct measurement of the pressure after the evaporator and the temperature before and after the compressor. This ensures the most accurate control of superheating after the evaporator, to increase the efficiency of the cooling system and also to protect the compressor (complete evaporation of the refrigerant before the compressor).
